7-Session Manual-based Program Package

7-Session Manual-based Program Package includes the following:

  • A one-year (renewable) Program Delivery License issued to the person who completes the two-step training/licensing process. Note: Licensing time period begins at program purchase, so please complete all requirements as soon as possible.

  • A digital (PDF) copy of the 7-session Instructors Manual*

  • The COPE Instructors Online Training. This two-step training (approx. 2.5 hours) must be completed by the instructor to deliver the program and purchase manuals. Our programs are not currently designed to be used in a "train-the-trainer" process.

  • One digital (PDF) sample copy of the Child and Teen Student manuals* (license permits ONE copy of each to be printed)

  • Five 7-session Child, Teen or Young Adult Hard-copy Student Manuals (to use in your program). Additional manuals are available for purchase. Students will be writing answers in the manuals, so each student needs a separate manual. Hard-copy manuals are sent once training has been completed.

  • NEW! Membership in the Instructors Networking Group.

  • Follow-up consultation with a COPE trainer (as needed).

15-Session Manual-based Program Package

15-Session Manual-based Program Package includes the following:

  • The COPE Instructors Online Training. This two-step training (approx. 2.5 hours) must be successfully completed by the instructor in order to deliver the COPE Program and purchase manuals. Our programs are not currently designed to be used in a "train-the-trainer" process.

  • A digital (PDF) "training" copy* of the 15-Session Teachers manual* (to use in your program, hard-copy version sent when program training is completed. License permits ONE copy to be printed for training purposes only).

  • One digital (PDF) "training" copy of the 15-Session Teen Student manuals* (license permits ONE copy of each to be printed for training purposes only).

  • Five Hardcopy 15-session Teen Student Manuals. Students will be writing answers in the manuals, so each student needs a separate manual. Hard-copy manuals are sent once training has been completed.

  • NEW! Membership in the Instructors Networking Group.

  • Follow-up consultation with a COPE trainer (as needed).

The 15-session program utilizes various "tools" (not included with the program) to assist with implementation, encourage participation, and measure progress, including:

  • Student Folder (for each student, with pockets for holding index cards and notes/papers)

  • 3" x 5" index cards (about 12 per student)

  • Wheel of Fitness (handmade spinning wheel used to select weekly exercises). This tool must be constructed by instructors or substituted with something similar (such as index cards marked with each exercise).

  • Pedometer for each student (used to track steps). Manually counting and recording steps can be used as a substitute.

  • iPod(TM) Shuffle (used as a prize for the person in the group who logs the most steps). Can be substituted with any other prize.

Additional Program Details

University Student Instructors

If you are a Student Instructor and received COPE training through an in-person or online class, you MUST purchase a Manual-based Program Package in order to deliver the program at your workplace and order manuals. However, you do NOT need to perform any additional training. Once purchased, you will be a COPE Certified Instructor.

Insurance

Clinicians from several states have become COPE-trained instructors and are currently delivering the 7-session COPE program for children and teens and receiving insurance reimbursement with the 99214 code.

Mental health providers, counselors, psychologists, and social workers are currently delivering the 7-session COPE program for children and teens and receiving insurance reimbursement with the following codes:

  • Initial evaluation: 90791 (diagnostic interview)

  • COPE Sessions/progress notes: 90834 (individual therapy - 45 minutes)
